Workshop Camera Club Community Involvement

As part of encouraging and promoting photography as an art form in the Community, the Club:

  • organises and runs a very successful Photomarket with the Northern Exposure Photo Group. This has been happening for over 25 years. The Photomarket events are in February, July and October.
  • publishes a freely available monthly newsletter "Dark Rumours" .
  • participates in the annual Canning Arts Group Gala Day.
  • exhibits member's print and digital images in the Riverton Library several times a year.
  • welcomes visitors to come along to a few meetings. International Visitors are especially welcome!

  • provides members who judge and help run the Perth National Photographic Competition.
  • provides members who judge and help run the ACT-BELONG-COMMIT Canning Art Awards.
  • provides members who judge local photographic competitions.
  • has members who are creating an eBook for photographers travelling to Christmas Island. This will be freely given to the Christmas Island Tourist Association for advertising and distribution.
  • has members who are creating an eBook for photographers travelling to Rottnest Island. This will be freely given to the Rottnest Island Authority for advertising and distribution.
  • organises a yearly photographic long weekend away, where like minded people explore and enjoy photographic opportunities, guided by well known professional photographers.
  • has many very active Special Interest Groups that organise outings and sessions to cater for specific genres of photography such as Macro, Nature, Landscape, etc. These SIGs have their own photographic Galleries on the club website.

  • is affiliated with the West Australian Photographic Federation (WAPF) along with other Western Australian photographic clubs, involving over 500 professional and amateur photographers.
